TORONTO BANDURA FESTIVAL

The Toronto Bandura Festival would like to thank all of our participating ensembles who took part in this year’s First Biennial Toronto Bandura Festival. Big thank you to the Canadian Bandurist Capella, Vira Zelinska Bandura Capella “Zoloti Struny”, Kobzari Ensemble, Toronto Regional Group of the Women’s Bandura Ensemble of North America, Paul Yuzyk Academy of Toronto Bandura Ensemble and the St.Demetrius Bandura Ensemble!

Thank you to all the artistic leaders: Oksana Zelinska-Shevchuk, Victor Mishalow, Ron Demeda, Pavlo Fondera, Olena Gavrylyuk and Oksana Shumska. Your hard work and dedication to furthering the Bandura tradition are so crucial to maintaining our Ukrainian culture, language, and heritage for future generations of Ukrainians-Canadians in the Greater Toronto Area. Special thank you also goes to Oksana Zelinska-Shevchuk and Pavlo Fondera for their terrific work in leading the joint ensemble for our final two songs.

TBF would also like to thank all of our volunteers who helped make our concert a success – Oleksander Petlura, Orest Sushko, Anastasiia Shpilieva, Robert Lewicki, Anna Tanczak, Alisa Osavelyuk, Walter Olenych and John Tron. Finally, we want to thank all our attendees, and we hope you enjoyed the concert! We encourage you to keep supporting bandura art in Toronto, whether by attending concerts of our brilliant ensembles and bandura performers, or by helping expand bandura education by encouraging your kids and friends to consider learning to play the bandura!

Our concert raised $1,250 for the Canada-Ukraine Foundation’s Aid for Artists Fund. We encourage all of our followers to please consider donating additional funds to this vital cause. If you do choose to donate, please consider listing the donation in honour of the “Toronto Bandura Festival,” which will make it easier to track donations resulting from this concert.
